Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson took a hit along the sideline in the second quarter of an NFC Wild Card game against the New York Giants and hobbled to the sideline with an apparent injury.
Nelson has a rib injury and he was carted to the locker room to examine the extent of the injury. He is now listed as out for the remainder of the game due to the extent of his injury.
Nelson was drafted 36th overall in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Kansas State. After emerging as an elite receiver for the Packers, he missed the entire 2015-16 season with an ACL tear. In his first season back from the injury, Nelson has returned as the top-receiving threat for the Packers’ offense. He came into the Wild Card matchup with 97 catches for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns. It’s the fourth season in Nelson’s last five that he’s gone for over 1,000 yards receiving.
