The vacant WBC World cruiserweight title will be on the line in Germany on Saturday night, as veteran Marco Huck and undefeated Mairis Briedis square off at Westfalenhalle.
Bridis, 32, is considered a slight favorite by oddsmakers. Boasting impressive power, 18 of his 21 victories have come via knockout, and he hasn’t had a fight go the distance since November of 2014.
“I prefer opponents of this caliber, for the bigger the challenge, the better I perform,” said Huck. “I will be preparing myself very intensely and conscientiously, because if I do my homework well, a fight is usually decided in my favor before it gets even started.”
Following a loss to Krzysztof Glowacki in August of 2015, “Kapt’n” Huck has reeled off two victories in a row, most recently defeating Dmytro Kucher via unanimous decision in November.
The card, which also features Christina Hammer vs. Maria Lindberg, is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. locally in Germany and 8 p.m. in the UK. Here’s a complete look at everything you need to know to watch a live stream:
