WATCH: Krillin, Piccolo & Androids Gameplay for Dragon Ball FighterZ

Update – new gameplay has been revealed for the Super Saiyan Blue forms of Goku and Vegeta! And what sticks out the most about these alternate characters is that they both have unique moves that set them apart from their Super Saiyan forms. Check out that new footage below:

A bunch of already released fighters and upcoming ones are getting new reveals at Gamescom 2017.

Bandai Namco wants to make sure its new Dragon Ball fighter gets tons more eyes on it, which is why they’ve dropped a new gameplay trailer. A lot of the info featured in this new vid focuses on previously known reveals and surprising new details. Thanks to a bunch of info unveiled by the Japanese gaming media, we all know about the game’s newest roster additions – Krillin, Piccolo, plus Androids 16 and 18. The trailer posted above shows each character in motion (it’s interesting to see that Android 17 has been relegated to a partner of sorts for 18. Fingers crossed that he’ll be playable on his own). No gameplay for Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta is shown, but now we know they’ll be offered up as early unlocks as a pre-order bonus.

Speaking of pre-order bonuses, the end of the trailer makes it known that two exclusive lobby avatars and early access to the open beta will also be available. Now that those details are out in the open, let’s get into the planned month of release – February 2018. The Collector’s Edition (which has cleverly been dubbed the “CollecterZ” Edition) comes with tons of goodies, including a sick Goku statue that can be seen below:

Dragon Ball FighterZ’s info dump still has some things worth noting. Its Story Mode will be a “What If?” scenario that sees Android 16 getting revived and looking to battle the main characters. Judging by the closing moments of the trailer, it looks like evil Android clones of the Z Fighters will threaten the world. And then there’s the presence of a unique multiplayer mode – three players will face another team of three in a 6-player mode. Each player will get to directly control their chosen fighter. As for the open beta, that’ll be dropping in January 2018. And finally, more than 10 stages are planned for inclusion in the final build.

So yeah…count us in for Dragon Ball FighterZ. By the way, you might want to sign up for the closed beta here to get ready for the final release. Now where the heck is Broly…
