As announced earlier this year, LCD Soundsystem will play their last-ever show on April 2nd at Madison Square Garden in their hometown of New York City. With NYC original 80’s post-punk/disco outfit Liquid Liquid opening, James Murphy and crew have promised to keep the party going for about three hours and have hinted at bringing all manner of special guests and treats to make their last show a winner.
The MSG show sold out so fast that the band added a string of shows at another NYC venue, Terminal 5, beforehand to calm down desperate fans, and as a big middle finger to scalpers. Read about that debacle at LCD’s site.
If you weren’t able to get tickets to any of the shows or the Garden show in particular, Pitchfork is giving you the next best thing: streaming the concert, live, in real time, and one-time-only. No replays. Pretty awesome.
