Souza, Bowling, Heun also out indefinitely
Four fighters were given indefinite medical suspensions after Saturday’s Strikeforce card in Columbus, Ohio, and nine fighters in total are on the shelf.
The Ohio Athletic Commission handed out indefinite suspensions to main event fighter Miesha Tate, as well as former middleweight champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Conor Heun and Roger Bowling. The commission on Monday reported the suspensions to HeavyMMA.
In addition, 30-day suspensions were given to Pat Healy, Alexis Davis and Brandon Saling, and a 45-day suspension to Kazuo Misaki. As a precaution in Ohio, all fighters are issues suspensions of at least seven days.
Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey took place at the Nationwide Arena in Ohio’s capital city and was headlined by a women’s bantamweight title fight between champion Tate and top contender Ronda Rousey.
