Tickets available to general public Friday
Tickets for the UFC’s annual Memorial Day weekend card go on sale this week for a show that will be literally the promotion’s biggest ever.
UFC 146 features a main card with five heavyweight fights, including a main event heavyweight title fight between champion Junior dos Santos and former Strikeforce champ Alistair Overeem. And the co-main event will be a top contenders fight between former champions Cain Velasquez and Frank Mir, with the winner moving on to face the dos Santos-Overeem winner.
In addition to those two big fights, three other pairs of heavyweights will meet on the May 26 card in Las Vegas. Roy Nelson, winner of Season 10 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” meets Strikeforce transplant Antonio Silva. Former UFC title challenger Gabriel Gonzaga takes on another Strikeforce crossover fighter, the unbeaten Shane Del Rosario. And Stefan Struve, the tallest fighter in UFC history, faces Mark Hunt.
The general public can purchase tickets this Friday starting at 1 p.m. Eastern time. Tickets range in price from $75 to $800 and are available at Ticketmaster.
Additionally, members of the UFC’s Fight Club can purchase tickets on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Eastern at ufcfightclub.com. And UFC newsletter subscribers can purchase tickets Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern with a password from the newsletter.
UFC 146 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Other fights announced for the card include Jason “Mayhem” Miller vs. C.B. Dollaway, Dan Hardy vs. Duane Ludwig, Evan Dunham vs. Edson Barboza and TUF 14 featherweight winner Diego Brandao vs. Darren Elkins.
