Etim out of “UFC on FOX 4” contest with Lauzon
UFC lightweight Terry Etim has been forced to withdraw from his “UFC on FOX 4” bout against submission ace Joe Lauzon.
FUEL TV’s “UFC Tonight” confirmed the injury.
Lauzon now awaits an opponent for the August 4 event, and a fellow 155 lb. fighter has stepped up.
John Alessio went to Twitter today, stating that he would step in to fight Lauzon. The main issue, however, is the fact that Alessio is fighting at UFC 148 on July 7 against Shane Roller.
With “UFC on FOX 4” taking place just under one month later, the booking seems very unlikely.
The August event takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Brandon Vera will headline the event.
