UFC 153 loses Aldo to injury
It’s probably time to add UFC 153 to the list of “cursed” cards.
Just a short while after news surfaced from Dana White that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was ruled out of the event due to an injury, another high profile fighter has been forced to withdraw.
Main event fighter and featherweight champion Jose Aldo has been pulled from the card due to an injury.
Dana White went to Twitter to announce the second piece of disappointing news of the day for the promotion.
Aldo was originally scheduled to fight Erik Koch in the main event of the card, which is set for October 13 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but Koch was forced out due to injury.
In his place, former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar stepped in. Edgar is now without an opponent, and there has been no word as to whether or not he will remain on the card.
Dana White said it best on Twitter, stating, “We have some work to do.”
