The Jaguars re-signed Junior on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Junior was an exclusive rights free agent this offseason after playing in nine games last year. The cornerback mainly saw action on special teams and will look to carve out a depth role again in 2024.
Junior was nearing the end of his 21-day window to be activated after being designated to return from IR on Oct. 23. While he has been activated, it remains to be seen if he will see the field in Sunday's matchup with the 49ers. With Tyson Campbell (hamstring) considered questionable, Junior could potentially see a relatively heavy workload right away.
Junior has spent the last six weeks on injured reserve with a hamstring injury he sustained Week 1, but he finally seems to be approaching a return to action ahead of Week 8. The Jaguars' injury reports over the week will shed more light on his potential availability for Sunday versus New Orleans.
