Major impact in Week 15
Greenard recorded six total tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, while also forcing a fumble in Monday's 30-12 win over the Bears. Greenard didn't wait long to make his mark in Week 15, recording a strip-sack of Caleb Williams in the first quarter. Teammate Blake Cashman recovered the fumble while the sack was Greenard's 11th of the year. Greenard has now compiled 49 total tackles (34 solo), including the 11.0 sacks, while also adding four forced fumbles and two passes defensed over 14 games in his first season with Minnesota.
Disruptive in win
Greenard recorded six tackles (five solo), including 2.0 sacks and two additional tackles for losses, in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Bears. The linebacker is up to 9.0 sacks on the year, tied with teammate Andrew Van Ginkel for sixth in the league. Greenard also has 37 total tackles (28 solo), two pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
Logs two more sacks in win
Greenard recorded 2.0 sacks and a pass defensed in Sunday's 21-13 win over the Colts. The defensive end now has 23 tackles (17 solo), including 7.0 sacks, on the year. Greenard has also played on more than 60 percent of the defensive snaps in all eight of Minnesota's games this season.
Logs fifth sack of season vs. Lions
Greenard finished Sunday's 31-29 loss to Detroit with four tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one forced fumble. Greenard logged his fifth sack of the season Sunday after taking down Jared Goff for a nine-yard loss early in the fourth quarter. His five sacks on the year is tied with Andrew Van Ginkel and Pat Jones for most on the Vikings and tied for ninth-most in the NFL this season. Greenard will look to add to his sack total against Matthew Stafford and the Rams on Thursday night.
Monster day in Minnesota
Greenard recorded four total tackles (three solo), including 3.0 sacks, during Sunday's 34-7 win over the Texans. Greenard dominated in his first game against his former team in Week 3, sacking C.J. Stroud in three different quarters while logging the most sacks he's ever had in a single NFL game. The first-year Viking has impressed through his first three games in Minnesota, recording six total tackles, including 4.0 sacks, over 137 defensive snaps. Expect Greenard to continue being one of the league's most dominant edge rushers as the Vikings travel to Green Bay in Week 4.
Gets first sack for Minnesota
Greenard had two total tackles and a sack in Sunday's win over the 49ers. Greenard had six QB hurries, according to Pro Football Focus, as he helped lead a deep pass rush that had six sacks. He played on 47 of the defense's 70 snaps as Minnesota features a deep rotation of pass rushers. Greenard rebounded after recording no tackles or sacks in Week 1.
Set for four-year deal with Vikings
Greenard is slated to ink a four-year, $72 million contract with Minnesota, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Greenard put together a career year across 15 regular-season games in 2023, the final year of his deal with the Texans. With 52 tackles (36 solo), 15 tackles for a loss, 12.5 sacks and a forced fumble, Greenard earned himself a notable payday, now becoming a pillar of the Vikings' defense. Minnesota will have to hope Greenard can consistently replicate the production levels of his 2023 campaign, which isn't a sure thing considering that across the first three years of his career, he racked up 10.5 sacks combined. The arrival of Greenard could signal that Danielle Hunter won't ultimately re-sign with the Vikings.
Leads team in sacks
Greenard had his most productive outing of the season setting new bests for both tackles and sacks. The 26-year-old is on pace for a career year and is already just two sacks short of his highest total of 8 back in 2021.
