Coach Brian Callahan said Thursday that Burks still has a role in Tennessee's wide receiver corps after the team's signing of veteran slot specialist Tyler Boyd, Nick Suss of the Nashville Tennessean reports. Callahan said of Burks' offseason "the work that he's put in has been really impressive," per Turron Davenport of ESPN, but the 2022 first-round pick may nonetheless have slid to No. 4 on the depth chart following Boyd's arrival, with Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins entrenched as Will Levis' clear top targets. The 225-pound wideout could still certainly have untapped potential, as he's battled injuries throughout the first two years of his NFL career, but his path to consistent opportunities has grown murkier despite Tennessee most ignoring the WR position in April's draft. For fantasy purposes, at least, Burks' prospects for 2024 will look dim if he's not able to beat out Boyd for the No. 3 role in training camp. Callahan did, at least, say that Burks will earn opportunities to line up both inside and outside.

Treylon Burks Latest News
Still has role in crowded WR room
Drops to third on depth chart
Burks profiles as the Titans' No. 3 receiver following the signing of Calvin Ridley, according to Mike Moraitis of Titans Wire. Assuming the Titans keep DeAndre Hopkins, there's really no room for Burks to sit any higher than third on the depth chart, even though he was a first-round pick just two years ago. The 225-pound WR missed six games in each of his first two NFL seasons while battling a variety of injuries, and he dropped from 444 yards as a rookie to 221 in his second season. From a real-life standpoint, Burks might actually be better off in a low-pressure role as the No. 3 receiver behind two established starters, but the tough competition for snaps and targets equates to a lower fantasy ceiling / lesser breakout odds all the same. The worst-case scenario would entail Burks losing the No. 3 role and sliding even further down Tennessee's depth chart.
Won't play Sunday
Burks last suited up Week 9 and will now miss a third straight contest. His continued absence should lead to increased reps at receiver for Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Chris Moore and Kyle Philips. Burks' next chance to return to action will come Dec. 3 versus the Colts.
Listed as non-participant Thursday
Burks didn't practice Wednesday, so he's looking iffy at best for Sunday's game against the Panthers. If the wideout is ruled out for the contest, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Chris Moore and Kyle Philips would be in line to continue to see added snaps behind No. 1 WR DeAndre Hopkins this weekend.
Still not practicing
Burks, who has missed the Titans' last two games, still has two more opportunities to take the practice field ahead of Sunday's contest against the Panthers. If Burks remains out this weekend, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Chris Moore and Kyle Philips could continue to see expanded snaps behind No. 1 wideout DeAndre Hopkins.
Won't play against Jaguars
Burks thus is slated to miss his second straight game and now will target a potential return to action Sunday, Nov. 26 against the Panthers. In his continued absence, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Chris Moore and Kyle Philips are in line to see increased WR snaps behind top option DeAndre Hopkins.
Remains sidelined Friday
Burks didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday either, and he could well be ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars later Friday. If that ends up being the case, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Chris Moore and Kyle Philips would figure to see added snaps this weekend behind No. 1 wideout DeAndre Hopkins.
Still absent Thursday
Burks missed Week 10 after being concussed 14 days ago in Pittsburgh, and he looks like he's trending toward missing a second consecutive contest. Burks has a concussion history, so it makes sense to be extra cautious with him. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Chris Moore and Kyle Philips are next up at wideout behind DeAndre Hopkins should Burks need to sit out.
Remains sidelined Wednesday
Burks didn't practice at all last week before being ruled out ahead of Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers. The wideout now has two more chances to practice ahead of this weekend's contest against the Jaguars, but if he remains sidelined this weekend, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Chris Moore and Kyle Philips would be in line to see added snaps at receiver behind No. 1 wideout DeAndre Hopkins.
