Out again for Week 2
Seumalo (pectoral) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Seumalo will miss his second consecutive game to open the season after he was unable to practice all week. Spencer Anderson should make another start at left guard for Pittsburgh.
Ruled out for Week 1
Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Seumalo (pectoral) won't suit up Week 1 versus the Falcons, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Tomlin said he expects Seumalo back on the field "sooner rather than later," but he declined to provide a clearer return timetable than "week-to-week" for the starting offensive lineman. In the meantime, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports that Spencer Anderson will draw the start at left guard Sunday at Atlanta.
Leaves practice with pec injury
Seumalo left Monday's practice due to a pectoral injury ;and did not return, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Initial tests ruled out a season-ending injury for Seumalo, but the Steelers are still determining how much time the 2016 third-round pick could miss. That could indicate that Seumalo may begin the season on IR, which would force him to miss at least four games. 2023 seventh-round pick Spencer Anderson is currently listed on the Steelers' unofficial depth chart as the backup left guard behind Seumalo.
