Sent to injured reserve
The Steelers placed Henderson (neck) on injured reserve Saturday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Henderson had already been ruled out for Sunday's date with the Broncos, and he'll now be required to miss at least the next four games. He'll be eligible to return in Week 15 against Philadelphia. The No. 9 overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Jaguars, Henderson has yet to appear in a game this season.
Out for Sunday
Henderson (neck) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Ravens. Henderson popped up on the Steelers' injury report Thursday as a non-participant due to a neck issue, and following Friday's DNP, he won't play in Sunday's divisional matchup. With Henderson sidelined in Week 11, expect James Pierre to see increased work with Pittsburgh's first-team defense.
Signed to active roster
The Steelers signed Henderson from their practice squad to the active roster Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Henderson first joined Pittsburgh's practice squad at the end of last month but has yet to appear in a game this season. The 26-year-old could have a chance to make his debut Week 8 versus the Giants as Donte Jackson is currently dealing with a shoulder injury.
Finds opportunity
Henderson signed with the Steelers' practice squad Wednesday. Henderson was last with the Texans during training camp but ultimately was unable to make the team. The Florida product appeared in 12 games with the Panthers last season, making 39 tackles (31 solo), 1.0 sacks and two passes defended.
Returns to practice
Henderson (undisclosed) was back out on the field at the Texans' practice Tuesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of The Houston Chronicle reports. Henderson was unavailable for multiple practices as a result of an undisclosed issue, but he was practicing in full capacity Tuesday. The cornerback signed with the Texans in March and he'll look to carve out a significant role for himself in Houston's secondary this season.
Headed to Houston
Henderson signed a one-year contract with the Texans on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Henderson hasn't made the expected impact tied to his first-round draft capital, but he was a decent contributor in the Panthers' secondary for the last two seasons. He's likely to fill a similar depth role with the Texans, potentially taking the field in nickel or dime formations.
Will suit up at Tampa
Henderson has been sidelined for the Panthers' last three games due to a concussion he sustained in Week 9 versus the Colts, but he's finally ready to return to action in Week 13. He projects to step in as a starter at cornerback across from Donte Jackson unless Jaycee Horn (hamstring) also comes back Sunday.
Doubtful despite two full practices
Henderson logged full practices Thursday and Friday, but he's unlikely to make his first appearance since Week 9 on Sunday against the Titans. The 1-9 Panthers have little reason to rush Henderson's return, but given his recent uptick in practice participation, there's a good chance he will clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol and be available in Week 13 against the Buccaneers.
Getting closer to return
Henderson has been working his way through the league's five-step concussion protocols since he suffered the head injury in Week 9 and seems to be getting closer to gaining clearance to play again. His practice status for Friday should shed better light on whether he'll be cleared to suit up Sunday against the Titans.
