Miller rushed eight times for 15 yards and brought in both targets for 16 yards in the Saints' 34-0 loss to the Packers on Monday night. He also returned one kickoff for 21 yards. The second-year back helmed the backfield in place of Alvin Kamara (groin), but he unsurprisingly found running room at a premium and soon saw game script turn against the ground attack altogether. Miller now has 27 carries over the last three games, while his receiving yardage total was a new season high. Miller would likely reprise his No. 1 gig in a favorable Week 17 home matchup against the Raiders if Kamara remains out, considering Jamaal Williams and Jordan Mims appear destined to continue serving in complementary roles.

Stymied on 10 touches in loss
Steps up for injured starter Sunday
Miller notched nine rushes for 46 yards and failed to catch his only target during Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Commanders. Miller was hardly involved for most of the game but had to shoulder a bigger workload after RB1 Alvin Kamara exited with a groin injury early in the fourth quarter. The second-year backup logged eight carries and his lone target during this quarter, and he finished with a career high in rushing yards. Meanwhile, RB3 Jamaal Williams finished without a carry or a target. Kamara did not return before the end of Sunday's contest, leaving his status uncertain for next week's contest versus Green Bay on Monday, Dec. 23. Should he miss time, then Miller should be in line to step in as the feature back for New Orleans.
Finds end zone in return
Miller carried the ball 10 times for 32 yards and a touchdown and failed to catch his only target in Sunday's 14-11 win over the Giants. Making his return to the lineup after a four-game absence due to a hamstring strain, Miller opened the scoring on the afternoon with an eight-yard score late in the first quarter. Alvin Kamara led the Saints' backfield with 22 touches, but Miller's 10 topped the five that Jamaal Williams handled, and the second-year back appears to be taking advantage of the clean slate he received when Dennis Allen was let go as head coach. Miller will look to build on this effort in Week 15 against the Commanders.
Active for Week 14
Miller (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Giants. It was well reported that the Saints former head coach, Dennis Allen, wasn't a fan of Miller missing so much time early in his career due to injuries. However, interim head coach Darren Rizzi doesn't feel the same way and is excited to have Miller, who has missed 11 of 13 games this season due to two IR stints, back in the fold. While Rizzi remains optimistic about Miller's ability to make an impact, it's unclear how much the second-year running back will be involved against the Giants, as Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams are both active. In two appearances this season, Miller has totaled 11 touches for 53 yards across 28 offensive snaps. He also saw some work as a kick returner.
Activated off IR
Miller (hamstring), who is still listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Giants, was activated off injured reserve Saturday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports. Miller is expected to make his return after a four-game absence come Sunday. The second-year running back has been injured frequently during his career and was reportedly in the former coaching regime's "doghouse", but interim head coach Darren Rizzi made a point of saying in a press conference that doesn't apply to his tenure in the position. It's unclear what that all means in terms of playing time for Miller, but the Saints should be invested in seeing what they have in the 2023 third-round pick.
Expected to play Week 14
Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi said Friday he expects Miller (hamstring) to come off IR in time for Sunday's game against the Giants, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports. Miller had his practice window opened Wednesday, and while he may officially be listed as questionable for Sunday's road game against New York, it sounds like the second-year pro is on track to be activated from IR and retake the field. If Miller is indeed activated in time to suit up Week 14, he may get a chance to compete with Jamaal Williams for backup reps behind starter Alvin Kamara.
Returns to practice
Miller (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Miller returned to practice in full Wednesday after missing the Saints' last four games due to a hamstring injury sustained in a Week 8 loss to the Chargers. The second-year running back from TCU now has 21 days to be activated to the Saints' active roster before reverting to IR. If Miller is activated in time to play in New Orleans' Week 14 matchup against the Giants on Sunday, he'll likely serve as the team's No. 3 RB, playing behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams.
Lands on IR with hamstring injury
The Saints placed Miller (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday. Miller missed the first six games of the regular season due to a hamstring injury, though it's not clear whether his current hamstring issue is to the same leg. The 2023 third-round pick will be forced to miss at least the next four regular-season games, making Week 13 against the Rams on Sunday, Dec. 8 the earliest he can return. Jamaal Williams (groin) has already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Panthers, so the Saints signed Jordan Mims from the practice squad to the active roster to serve as Alvin Kamara's backup.
Logs another DNP
Miller (hamstring) was listed as a DNP on Thursday's practice report, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Miller has logged consecutive DNPs this week while working through a hamstring injury he picked up during the Saints' Week 8 loss to the Chargers. Unless he can practice in at least a limited capacity Friday, Miller would be in jeopardy of being ruled out ahead of Sunday's NFC South showdown against the Panthers. If he were to be inactive, Jamaal Williams (groin) would be in line to serve as the backup running back behind Alvin Kamara (hand/ribs).
