Kittle (hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Green Bay, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Kittle promised Wednesday he'd be back this weekend, and while he's living up to his end of the bargain, his fantasy outlook is less promising than usual with Brandon Allen stepping in for an injured Brock Purdy (right shoulder) as the 49ers' starting QB . Allen hasn't started a game since 2021 and has a career completion rate of just 56.7 percent, with 6.1 yards per attempt, 10 TDs and six INTs on 263 passes.

George Kittle Latest News
Avoids injury designation
Remains limited at practice
Kittle (hamstring) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Kittle maintained his activity level for a second day in a row and in a fourth straight session going back to last week due to hamstring irritation that sidelined him for this past Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. No matter, he relayed to David Lombardi of SFStandard.com on Wednesday that he intends to return to action Sunday in Green Bay. The 49ers can confirm as much Friday when they post their final injury report of the week, but a decision also could come down to about 90 minutes before a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
Intends to play Sunday
Kittle (hamstring) relayed his intention to return to action Week 12, saying he'll "for sure" play Sunday at Green Bay, David Lombardi of SFStandard.com reports. Kittle missed this past Sunday's loss to the Seahawks due to hamstring irritation, but he's slated to be limited at Wednesday's practice, as coach Kyle Shanahan told Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News. That would mark Kittle's third capped session in a row dating back to last week, and he'll have two more chances to get back to full participation this week before the 49ers need to make a decision regarding whether or not he'll have a designation ahead of Sunday's contest.
Set for limited practice Wednesday
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Kittle (hamstring) will be a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Kittle sat out this past Sunday's defeat to the Seahawks due to hamstring irritation that he sustained one week prior. Shanahan told Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com on Monday that Kittle was "close" to playing Week 11, but the tight end may need to practice in full by week's end in order to sidestep a designation for Sunday's game at Green Bay.
In line to practice Wednesday
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that the 49ers expect Kittle (hamstring) to practice Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Kittle came out of a Week 10 win at Tampa Bay with hamstring irritation that capped him to a pair of limited practices during Week 11 prep. While he ultimately was inactive for Sunday's loss to the Seahawks, Shanahan noted the tight end was "close" to being able to suit up. Kittle's activity level Wednesday may set the tone for the rest of the week, but it appears as if he'll miss just one game as a result of the injury.
Officially inactive Sunday
Kittle (hamstring) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Seahawks, Lindsey Pallares of the 49ers' official site reports. Kittle has dealt with a few injuries this season, including a hamstring issue that capped him to two limited practices during Week 11 prep and left him questionable for Sunday's game. Having said that, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported early Sunday morning that Kittle wasn't likely to play, with his availability subject to a pregame warmup. With inactive status now confirmed for Kittle, he'll miss his second contest of the campaign. Per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com, fellow TE Eric Saubert is dealing with an illness but expected to play, which could mean Jake Tonges and Brayden Willis get more snaps at the position than expected.
Unlikely to play Sunday
Kittle (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Seattle, is unlikely to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The 49ers will see how he feels pregame, according to the report, so there may still be a chance he can play but the team isn't optimistic. Kittle was a limited practice participant Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Fantasy managers will want to check the inactive list ahead of a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday as a result. Eric Saubert likely will step in as the starter if Kittle ends up inactive.

Logs limited practice Thursday
Kittle (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Before Kittle was held out of Wednesday's session due to what has been termed hamstring irritation by Kyle Shanahan, the coach himself relayed little concern about the tight end's potential to play Sunday against the Seahawks, per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com. Kittle took a step in the right direction Thursday, but he still may need to log a full practice Friday in order to head into the weekend sans a designation.
