Joey Slye Latest News
Misses two FGAs in loss
Slye went 3-for-5 on field-goal tries while making his only extra-point attempt in Sunday's 25-24 loss to the Colts. Slye began his day with three straight field-goal makes from 35 yards, 31 yards and 54 yards versus Indianapolis. He then missed a chip-shot 25-yarder on the team's final possession of the first half before later missing a nearly impossible 68-yard attempt to end the game. The kicker has now made 22 of 28 field-goal tries while going 17-for-18 on PATs in 2024.
Misses lone field-goal try Sunday
Slye missed his only field-goal attempt but converted his only extra-point try during Sunday's 34-15 loss at Miami. Slye's only shot at a field goal in Week 12 came towards the end of the first quarter, and he drove the 45-yard kick off the right upright. He has now missed a kick in three of his last four games heading into a Week 13 matchup versus the Colts.
Hits three field goals in loss
Slye went 3-for-3 on field-goal tries and made one of two PATs in Sunday's 28-22 loss to the Rams. Slye made multiple field goals for the second straight week after going five straight weeks without doing so prior. His longest make of the day came from 42 yards, while he did miss an extra-point attempt for the first time this year. Through 11 contests, the kicker has gone 19-for-22 on field-goal attempts and 15-for-16 on PATs.
Perfect versus Bears
Slye made all four of his field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try during New England's 19-3 win over the Bears on Sunday. Slye was perfect through all five of his kicks during Sunday's victory, and he outscored Chicago's entire team. He will look to build off this performance during the team's Week 11 matchup versus the Rams.
Misses valuable opportunity Sunday
Slye made one of his two field-goal tries and converted both of his two extra-point attempts during Sunday's 20-17 overtime loss at Tennessee. Both of Slye's field-goal tries in Week 9 came from longer than 50 yards out, a tough ask for any kicker. But after such a close loss, the Patriots will probably look back on the 56-yarder he missed in the first quarter as a squandered opportunity. New England's struggling offense will get another stiff test in Week 10 at Chicago.
Quiet day in Week 8 win
Slye made his only field-goal attempt and converted on both extra-point tries in Sunday's 25-22 win over the Jets. Slye was successful on a 23-yard chip shot in the fourth quarter, which gave the Patriots a one-point lead with 7:36 left to play in the game. Slye is now 11-for-13 on field-goal attempts and 11-for-11 on extra-point tries through the first seven games of the regular season.
Not heavily involved in loss
Slye made his only field-goal try and converted his only extra-point attempt in Sunday's 32-16 loss to the Jaguars. Slye's 41-yarder early in the second quarter put the Patriots up 10-0, but momentum quickly swung in Jacksonville's favor afterwards, leaving Slye without any further scoring chances. Though New England's office has improved since Drake Maye took over as starter, it remains one of the worst in the league by many metrics so far this season, rendering Slye non-viable in most fantasy formats.
Not a big factor Sunday
Slye made all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 41-21 loss versus the Texans. For the first game this season, Slye did not try any field-goal attempts in Week 6. New England looked improved on offense with rookie Drake Maye under center though, and if that's sustained, it could provide a boost to Slye's fantasy value in the long run.
Misses one in lost
Slye made his lone extra-point try but missed one of two field-goal attempts in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Dolphins. Slye missed a 33-yard attempt wide right in the second quarter, which would have given the Patriots a 10-3 lead before halftime. However, he opened the second half scoring with a 38-yard make. Next up for the Virginia Tech product and New England is a Week 6 visit from the Texans.
