The Cowboys placed Richards (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday. Richards suffered a high-ankle sprain during the Cowboys' 34-26 win over the Commanders this past Sunday. By being placed on injured reserve, Richards will be required to miss at least the next four regular-season games, which makes Week 17 against the Eagles on Sunday, Dec. 29 the earliest he is eligible to return from IR.
Richards (ankle) was considered a non-participant at the Cowboys' walkthrough Tuesday, Jane Slater of NFL Network reports. Richards has been unavailable for each of the team's first two walkthroughs of the week, putting his availability for Thursday's contest against the Giants in doubt. He'll look to participate in some capacity Wednesday; otherwise, Matt Waletzko would likely operate as the top reserve option at offensive tackle in Week 13.
Richards suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Commanders, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Richards is likely questionable at best for a Thanksgiving day matchup with the Giants since high-ankle sprains typically involve a multi-week absence. If he's ultimately unable to suit up, it'd be a blow to the Cowboys' offensive line depth.
