Signs with Commanders
Bryant signed with the Commanders on Tuesday. The Cowboys signed Bryant to their practice squad in November, shortly after he was reinstated from an NFL suspension. He then signed a futures contract in January, only to be released in May before the start of offseason practices. The 32-year-old wideout last played in a regular-season game in 2018, making him unlikely to earn a significant role in Washington even though the team has a need at wide receiver behind No. 1 target Terry McLaurin.
Let go by Dallas
The Cowboys informed Bryant on Wednesday that he will be released, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports. Bryant, who last suited up for an NFL game in 2018 with the Raiders, signed a reserve/future contract with Dallas earlier this offseason but will now have to search for an opportunity to reignite his career elsewhere. His release does not result in any dead money against the salary cap for the Cowboys, per Gehlken.
