Micic (illness) has been cleared for Wednesday's game against Toronto. Micic will suit up for his fourth consecutive contest while the Hornets' backcourt continues to play without Brandon Miller (hip). Micic hasn't been the most reliable floor general, which stands in stark contrast to his European resume, but he will look to continue settling in against a Toronto squad lacking Scottie Barnes (eye) on Wednesday.

Vasilije Micic Latest News
Will play Wednesday
Micic (illness) has been cleared for Wednesday's game against Toronto. Micic will suit up for his fourth consecutive contest while the Hornets' backcourt continues to play without Brandon Miller (hip). Micic hasn't been the most reliable floor general, which stands in stark contrast to his European resume, but he will look to continue settling in against a Toronto squad lacking Scottie Barnes (eye) on Wednesday.
Questionable for Wednesday
Micic (illness) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Raptors. Micic was a late addition to the injury report. With Tre Mann playing so well off the bench, Micic is averaging just 15.0 minutes per contest through three games.
Scoreless in 10 minutes
Micic contributed zero points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist across 10 minutes during Saturday's 114-106 loss to Miami. Micic played a season-low 10 minutes and was held scoreless for the first time through three games. With Brandon Miller (hip) and Josh Green (Achilles) sidelined, more minutes should be available for Micic. However, Tre Mann has emerged as the primary beneficiary after a couple of strong offensive performances.
Back to bench Tuesday
Micic will return back to the bench for Tuesday's preseason game versus the Knicks. With LaMelo Ball (rest) returning to action, Micic will be relegated back to the second unit. Although he started in the last preseason game against Memphis, he will continue to split time with Tre Mann as the backup point guard behind Ball.
Starting vs. Memphis
Micic will start in Thursday's preseason game against the Grizzlies. Micic will get a starting nod in this contest since the Hornets are resting LaMelo Ball. The Serbian point guard will get some minutes as he's pushing to earn the backup point guard role behind Ball.
Notches 19 for bronze medal
Micic provided 19 points (5-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), two assists and two rebounds across 21 minutes in Saturday's 93-83 win over Germany in the bronze medal game of the Paris Olympics. Micic tied Nikola Jokic for the game high in points as Serbia completed its trip atop the podium. The 30-year-old produced his best outing of the Olympic games, and it came at the right time for Serbia as it defeated Germany, the 2023 FIBA World Cup Champions. Micic was a solid third option for the squad, and he averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds across 22.0 minutes per game in six Olympic matches.
Productive outing in Olympics win
Micic accumulated 15 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 22 minutes in Serbia's 96-85 win over South Sudan in the Paris Olympics on Saturday. Micic was the clear No. 3 option behind Nikola Jokic and Bogdan Bogdanovic in Serbia's victory. The 30-year-old averaged 13.0 points, 5.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds across 21.7 minutes in three group-phase contests. Micic's ability to move the rock and spread the floor will be crucial for Serbia as they enter into the Olympic quarterfinals.
Will play limited minutes
Coach Steve Clifford said Micic will start but play limited minutes during Sunday's game against the Cavaliers, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports. While the rest of Charlotte's starters -- outside of Tre Mann -- will sit out the regular-season finale, Micic will start but play limited minutes. Micic has struggled over his last three appearances, but overall, he shined after moving into the starting lineup in early March. Over 20 straight starts, Micic has averaged 12.3 points, 6.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 30.6 minutes per game.
Records double-double Sunday
Micic ended Sunday's 121-118 loss to the Thunder with 17 points (6-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, 10 assists and one steal over 31 minutes. Micic has been thriving in a starting role for the rebuilding Hornets, and he's turning more than a few heads with his play, particularly his passing ability and overall vision. This was Micic's third double-double over his last six games, and he's dished out at least eight assists in each of those six outings as well.
