Batum is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Nuggets, Joey Linn of SI.com reports. The Clippers have been forced to tweak their starting lineup due to the hamstring injury sustained by Derrick Jones, and Batum will take his place in the lineup, at least until Kawhi Leonard (knee) is ready to return. Batum has averaged 3.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.3 steals per game across 17.8 minutes per game off the bench this season.
Notches nine points
Batum contributed nine points (3-6 FG, 3-5 3Pt) and three rebounds over 20 minutes during Monday's 102-99 victory over the Warriors. Batum recorded season highs in both points (9) and three-pointers (3) as the Clippers picked up their second straight win. Batum has averaged just 16.9 minutes per contest in 15 appearances, so fantasy managers should look elsewhere for someone with a better path to value.
Solid defensive showing in loss

Batum logged preseason action in the starting lineup, however he will retreat to the second unit with Derrick Jones starting at power forward. Batum averaged 6.1 points and 3.8 rebounds while connecting on 39.1 percent of 4.1 threes per game in 21.9 minutes per night during his 2022-23 season with the Clippers.
Starting vs. Sacramento
Batum is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against the Kings, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports. The Clippers will tweak their lineup for the preseason finale, and Batum will handle one of the forward spots. Bones Hyland, Norman Powell, Terance Mann and Ivica Zubac form the rest of the starting five.

Now in the twilight of his career, Batum's role on this Clippers team is going to be muted, to say the least. He should be an every-night part of the rotation but is likely to be limited to about 20 minutes per night. At best, he could be utilized for streaming purposes if and when the Clippers are dealing with injuries or the schedule is highly favorable.
Puts up 19 in win over Brazil
Batum posted 19 points (6-13 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two steals across 34 minutes in France's 78-66 win over Brazil in the Paris Olympics on Saturday. Batum heavily contributed in the scoring column while picking up significant minutes in Saturday's win. The 35-year-old is competing in his fourth Olympic Games, and his veteran presence will play an important role in France's Olympic campaign. The 16-year NBA vet played in 57 regular-season games for the 76ers last season, during which he averaged 5.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 25.8 minutes.
Agrees to deal with Clippers
Batum and the Clippers agreed to a two-year, $9.6 million deal Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports. Batum had a strong market in free agency including some reported interest from the Spurs, but the veteran opted to return to a familiar franchise. Batum spent four seasons with the Clippers before joining the 76ers in 2023-24, and he will provide the team with some quality depth at both forward positions despite his advanced age.
