Plumlee agreed to a one-year deal with the Suns on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Plumlee has bounced around the league throughout most of his career, and he'll be on the move again after agreeing to a short-term deal with Phoenix. He made 46 regular-season appearances (11 starts) with the Clippers last year and averaged 5.3 points and 5.1 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game. He'll attempt to bounce back with his new team but will likely have to settle for a depth role once again.

Mason Plumlee Latest News
Heading to Phoenix
![Team logo](https://heavy.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/phoenix-suns-logo.png?w=150)
Not starting Sunday
![Team logo](https://heavy.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/phoenix-suns-logo.png?w=150)
Plumlee will come off the bench for Sunday's Game 1 against Dallas, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. Plumlee has averaged 4.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game across 35 contests off the bench this season. Ivica Zubac slots in with the first unit, while Daniel Theis is a candidate for minutes off the bench as well.
Starting Sunday
![Team logo](https://heavy.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/phoenix-suns-logo.png?w=150)
Plumlee is slated to start at center in Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Rockets, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports. The Clippers are resting several starters ahead of the playoffs tipping off next weekend. As a result, Plumlee will move into the starting lineup and figures to see a heavier workload than usual. The veteran big man has averaged 8.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 23.2 minutes in 10 starts this season.
Returns to bench
![Team logo](https://heavy.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/phoenix-suns-logo.png?w=150)
Plumlee will come off the bench Friday against the Jazz, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports. Plumlee's time with the first unit was short-lived, as he'll head back to the bench Friday after drawing a spot start Wednesday against the Suns. He hasn't been much of a factor of late when serving in a reserve role, averaging 2.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists over his last five appearances.
Tallies double-double in start

Plumlee posted 12 points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists and one steal across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 124-108 loss to the Suns. Plumlee got the starting nod Wednesday's despite Ivica Zubac being active, going on to lead all Clippers in rebounds while ending as one of five players with a double-digit point total in a double-double performance. Plumlee tied a season high in rebounds, a mark he also tallied Jan. 26 against Toronto. He has hauled in 10 or more boards in five outings, notching a double-double in two of those contests.
Starting Wednesday

Plumlee will start Wednesday's game against the Suns, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports. Despite Ivica Zubac being active, Plumlee will draw the starting nod against Phoenix. He shouldn't be expected to see typical starter's minutes but could be a decent source of rebounds.
Makes only shot in win

Plumlee accumulated two points (1-1 FG), two rebounds and one block over 13 minutes during Thursday's 102-100 victory over the Nuggets. In 17 appearances since the All-Star break, Plumlee has averaged 3.6 points and 3.6 rebounds in 9.6 minutes while shooting 53.8 percent. This is a step back from before the break, when the 34-year-old averaged 6.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 17.6 minutes on 65.5 percent shooting. Unless Ivica Zubac is sidelined, Plumlee is not expected to carry much fantasy value, especially considering he's competing with Daniel Theis for backup minutes.
Logs six minutes in loss

Plumlee posted three points (1-1 FG, 1-1 FT) and two rebounds across six minutes during Friday's 112-104 loss to the Pelicans. Plumlee was used sparingly, managing just six minutes in the loss. The Pelicans are fine with running out a small-ball lineup, negating the impact of players like Plumee and Daniel Theis. Given Plumlee has played fewer than 10 minutes in four straight games, fantasy managers are well within reason to ignore him across all fantasy formats.
Nears double-double off bench

Plumlee produced eight points (4-5 FG, 0-2 FT), 11 rebounds and three blocks over 20 minutes during Wednesday's 122-116 victory over the Rockets. Plumlee led all Los Angeles players in rebounds along with a team-leading trio of blocks while ending two points shy of a double-double to provide a spark off the bench in a winning effort. Plumlee has surpassed the double-digit rebound total four games this season, including in two straight contests. He has recorded at least three blocks in two games, the other occurrence being Jan. 16 against Oklahoma City.
