Sabonis closed Friday's 104-88 loss to the Clippers with 24 points (9-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 15 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 40 minutes. After missing the prior two games due to back tightness, Sabonis appeared to be fully healthy in his return and reeled off his 13th straight game with a double-double or better. The 28-year-old center has seen his distribution numbers fall off a bit with DeMar DeRozan in the lineup, but he's averaging career highs in points (20.4), threes (1.0) and field-goal percentage (63.0 percent) to begin the season while supplying 12.7 boards and 6.4 assists per contest.

Extends double-double streak Friday
Off injury report for Friday
Sabonis (back) is off the injury report for Friday's game against the Clippers. Sabonis will return to game action after a two-game absence due to lower back tightness. With the big man and DeMar DeRozan (back) both off the injury report, Alex Len and Trey Lyles should shift back to their normal roles off the bench. Sabonis has averaged 20.2 points, 12.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists while shooting 64.1 percent from the field across 36.5 minutes per game in 13 regular-season outings.
Returns to practice
Sabonis (back) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. Sabonis has missed Sacramento's previous two contests due to lower back tightness. However, the star big man's return to practice is a good sign of his availability for Friday's game versus the Clippers.
Won't play Monday
Sabonis (back) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Hawks, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. Sabonis will miss his second consecutive outing due to lower back tightness, though he has been cleared for individual on-court activities and is nearing a return, according to Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee. Trey Lyles and Alex Len are both candidates for an increased role until Sabonis is able to come back. The star big man's next chance to suit up will come Friday against the Clippers.
Doubtful for Monday
Sabonis (back) is doubtful for Monday's game against the Hawks. Sabonis will likely miss a second consecutive game due to lower back tightness. Trey Lyles figures to see a significant role once again, while Alex Len could also see some action if Sabonis is in fact unable to go.
Won't play against Utah
Sabonis (back) is out for Saturday's game versus the Jazz. Sabonis will miss Saturday's contest due to lower back tightness that popped up during Friday's loss to the Timberwolves. Alex Len and Trey Lyles are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Sabonis' next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Atlanta.
Double-double despite back issues
Sabonis ended with 23 points (10-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocks over 40 minutes during Friday's 130-126 overtime loss to the Timberwolves. Per Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento, Sabonis was dealing with cramps in his back during the game, but that didn't stop him from producing his 12th straight double-double. The 28-year-old center continues to add to his skill set, and in addition to averaging 20.2 points, 12.5 boards and 6.6 assists per game, Sabonis is contributing 0.9 three-pointers per conetst while shooting 40 percent (12-for-30) from beyond the arc -- marks which would both be career highs if he can maintain them. With the Kings playing the second night of a back-to-back Saturday against the Jazz, Sabonis could get his first rest day of the season.
Flirts with triple-double in win
Sabonis finished Wednesday's 127-104 victory over the Suns with 11 points (3-4 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, nine assists and one block over 30 minutes. Sabonis served as more of a ball distributor in the win, falling short of his 22-point performance against the Suns last Sunday. He was in danger of breaking his 10-game double-streak, but he grabbed three quick rebounds during his brief appearance in the fourth quarter.
Logs 23/12 double-double
Sabonis had 23 points (11-19 FG, 1-3 3Pt), 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals in 36 minutes during Monday's 116-96 loss to San Antonio. Sabonis led the league in double-doubles last season and extended his current streak to 10 games in the loss. While Sabonis delivered a strong fantasy total, he struggled to contain Victor Wembanyama, who out-rebounded him in the paint.
