Freeman is in the Pacers' starting lineup for Monday's game against the Raptors, Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com reports. With Myles Turner (calf) sidelined and backup big men James Wiseman (Achilles) and Isaiah Jackson (Achilles) done for the year, Freeman will make his first career start Monday. Freeman, the Pacers' second-round selection in the 2024 NBA Draft, has seen sparse playing time this season, but he has a chance to earn a bigger spot in the rotation with a solid outing Monday.

Freeman produced six points (3-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists and one steal across 24 minutes. Freeman was efficient while racking up seven rebounds, tying Myles Turner for the team high. Freeman injured his knee during Thursday's preseason win over the Cavaliers, though he was able to accumulate 24 minutes on Monday, so the injury is likely already past him. The 24-year-old's next chance to suit up will come in the Pacers' final preseason game on Thursday versus the Hornets.
Freeman needed assistance walking to the locker room during Thursday's preseason game against the Cavaliers after suffering an apparent right knee injury, Tony East of SI.com reports. Freeman wasn't able to bend his knee much on his way off the floor, per East. He's likely headed to the locker room for further evaluation to determine the severity of the injury. Freeman finished the game with nine points (3-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, an assist and a block across 16 minutes off the bench.
Freeman and the Pacers agreed on a two-way contract Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Freeman, who spent five years at Akron, was the 50th overall pick in the 2024 Draft. It's not too surprising that he was signed to a two-way contract. He'll spend the majority of the season in the G League getting developmental minutes.
