For the first time in the celebration’s history, the Star Wars Celebration 2015 is going to have a live stream with highlights and over 30 hours of exclusive videos, trailers and interview content revolving around all of the movies, games and TV shows of the Star Wars universe.
The Star Wars Celebration live stream — which is being sponsored by Verizon — will kick off with the highly-anticipated panel featuring J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ director, and the producer of the film Kathleen Kennedy. Coverage will continue on throughout the massive four-day event that is sure to be the source of many major Star Wars news breaks. The stream will also feature discussions with Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and several other Star Wars cast members of the past and present.
Of course, it isn’t just all about the Star Wars movies, as video game developer DICE is teasing that their Star Wars: Battlefront gameplay is going to “break the internet.”
What to Expect
We really don’t know what to expect at the 2015 Star Wars Celebration, since the Star Wars franchise spans across movies, games, TV shows, toys and comic books. So, the possibilities are endless. But the most likely happenings are a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer and new Star Wars: Battlefront gameplay footage.
We’ll see a revival of the 3D re-releases for Episode I and Episode II, and the 3D debut of Revenge of the Sith on Friday night. We’ll also likely see new footage of Droid Tales (the upcoming animated LEGO Star Wars TV series).
As far as comic books are concerned, we saw that the Princess Leia Marvel comic book is seeing a great deal of success so far, and it’s quite possible Marvel might unveil new IPs.
Of course, we’re also hoping to hear about some new Star Wars: The Force Awakens action figures that will soon be for sale, but it seems a wee bit early for that. But we’re hoping…
We’ll definitely expect to see some new Star Wars: Battlefront gameplay footage, which developer DICE is teasing will “break the internet.”
