The people of Canada certainly have something to cheer about — the women’s national soccer team.
The squad advanced to the World Cup quarterfinals on its home soil with a 1-0 victory over Switzerland.
Host Canada meets England, which rallied from a 1-0 deficit to beat Norway 2-1.
The quarterfinal match is set for Saturday, June 27, at BC Place in Vancouver. It will air on FOX Sports 1 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
England is 6th in the latest FIFA rankings, Canada 8th.
