Courtney Love: “Courtney Love is Dead”

Strong words. During an interview with NME, Courtney Love decided to remove “Love” from her name and start going by “Courtney Michelle” declaring that “Courtney Love is dead.” Born Courtney Michelle Harrison, she admitted that the reason behind her decision is that, “We’ve all decided we don’t like her anymore. We love her when she goes onstage, but I don’t need her in the rest of my life.”

Good luck with that.

When you’re 45 years old and have spent as much time in the limelight as she has, you’re probably not going to get your wish of a name change. No one’s gonna go through and change her Wikipedia page. She can’t pull of an artist-formerly-known-as-Courtney-Love deal. She should just stick with what she’s got. It’s just confusing at this point.

Like putting a mask on Amy Winehouse, we all know what’s underneath.
