Talk about living the dream. Wade McGilberry of Semmes, Alabama pulled off something all of us have only dreamed of: getting paid a million Goddamned dollars to play video games. 2K Sports had offered a bounty of $1,000,000 to the first player to pitch a perfect game in MLB 2K10. Pitching as Kenshin Kawakami of the Atlanta Braves, McGilberry exactingly documented his game, sent it in, and lo and behold he was The Man with The Check. 2K had been deluged with entries from the day the game went on sale, but McGilberry was the official first.
