Everyone, not just game players but game makers, are busy enjoying a much deserved cooling off period after recent game accomplishments. Hence why the number of new (notable) releases have sharply declined. But as they say, what’s old is sometimes new again, as in the case with the following two re-releases.
Not sure what else needs to be said, especially since I went over the upcoming iOS and Android port in my preview, from the New York Comic Con a few weeks ago. The only thing to add is that one must assume that some of the technical quirks, like the wacky running speed of Claude and some of the handling of the cars, has been tightened up. In fact, it’s pretty much a guarantee. At the very least, the technical requirements have been loosened up a bit to now include the iPad 1, iPhone 4, fourth gen iPod Touch and a number of other Android devices. Because the more the merrier. And I still believe it to be the perfect cure to an annoying, long, crowded, stinky subway ride. iOS, Android
Many assumed that the first taste of Joe Danger for Xbox would be in the form of the multiplatform sequel, Joe Danger: The Movie. But nope, 360 gamers will finally get the chance to enjoy the former PS3 exclusive, and finally see why it’s so beloved. Aside from being a critical darling (with its biggest claim to fame being the grand prize winner at the Independent Games Festival in 2010), pretty much anyone who grew up loving old school platformers, more modern physics based challenges and simply Excitebike in general has drunk from its chalice… provided that they had a Dual Shock 3. But the wait has been worth it because, as the trailer above demonstrates, you can have Joe Danger spice up any game that uses avatars. Watch him rock the stage in Guitar Hero, or have him fly high in the sky via farting in the 30 or so Indie Channel games that support such a thing. Xbox 360
