A man known for his ability to heal emotionally wounded canines nearly met his end after a series of emotionally draining events in 2010.
With his marriage in pieces, and the death of his beloved 16-year-old pitbull Daddy, “Dog Whisperer” Cesar Millan fell into a depressed state. He initially received the dog as a puppy from rapper Redman after the entertainer felt he could no longer care for the animal. In his upcoming documentary “Cesar Millan: The Real Story,” he explains that after Daddy’s death, “I felt defeated, a big sense of guilt and failure … I was at the lowest level I had ever been emotionally and psychologically.”
He subsequently was hospitalized in London for an unspecified overdose, which he never mentioned publicly before. Now, two years later, Cesar is in a much better place and has found a new partner in a woman named Jahira Dar, who he believes is the one. “Cesar Millan: The Real Story” will air at 9 p.m. EST November 25 on Nat Geo Wild.
