It was unusual that Justin Bieber didn’t get any recognition at the 55th Grammy Awards. A welcome surprise, but unusual nonetheless. Patrick Carney, the drummer of the Black Keys (who happened to win three Grammys last week), apparently thought so too.
TMZ approached Carney the day after the Grammys with some questions. He answered most in a relatively benign manner, until the matter of Justin Bieber arose. When they asked him what he thought of Bieber’s lack of Grammy love, he responded, “I dunno, he’s rich, right? Grammys are for, like, music, not for money… He’s making a lot of money. He should be happy.” This might not seem like such a vitriolic reply, unless maybe you’re a hormonal teenager. Wait, I think I know of someone just like that…
the black keys drummer should be slapped around haha

Carney has yet to respond, but he has no need to quarrel with that baby-faced popster — he’s a Grammy winner, after all. Only time will tell who will send the next crushing tweet, but my money’s on the teenage hearthrob.
