20th Century Fox is going into hyper promotion mode for its latest Marvel Comics branded feature film, The Wolverine.
Three new official movie images have been released for the film and they show Hugh Jackman as the adamantium clawed Wolverine making his way through Japan. Surprisingly though, one of the photos shows Wolverine sporting some blood (FINALLY!) on his trusty weapons of choice.
The director for the film, James Mangold, made sure to hit Twitter and reveal the upcoming plans for the film up until it’s March 29th trailer release in theaters:
Clarity for all asking: I will tweet a peek (a “tweazer”) on 26th. Full teaser online on 27th. 3D and 2D in theaters on the big screen 29th.

So the above tweet means fans are going to get a glimpse at a teaser trailer for the film on March 26, which will be followed up by a full trailer on the 27. And finally, the 2D/3D trailer movie theater debut will fall on March 29.

“The Wolverine” will place Hugh Jackman in the lead role (of course), but will also star Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, and Brian Tee.
Director James Mangold spoke to Empire about the film’s plot and where it falls in the official timeline of the previous X-Men films:
Where this film sits in the universe of the films is after them all. Jean Grey is gone, most of the X-Men are disbanded or gone, so there’s a tremendous sense of isolation for him. That’s something that for me was very important, that I land in a very specific place in his timeline. I wanted to be able to tell the story without the burden of handing it off to a film that already exists and having to conform to it. The ideas of immortality reign very heavily in this story and the burden of immortality weighs heavily on Logan. For me that’s such an interesting part of Logan’s character that is nearly impossible to explore if you have a kind of league or team movie.
“The Wolverine” will be hitting theaters on July 24, 2013. UK Fans can look forward to seeing the film for themselves on July 26.
