Officials in Germany confiscated pop star Justin Bieber’s monkey after the singer tried to bring the animal into the country without the required documents, according to customs spokesperson Thomas Meister.
Bieber arrived at the Munich airport on Thursday to kick off the latest leg of his European show, performing a show later that night.
TMZ reports that the capuchin monkey a recent gift to the 19-year-old singer after record producer Mally Mall tweeted a photo from his Instagram account earlier in the week showing Bieber with the animal captioned, “OG MALLY FIRST PIC WITH HIS POPS @JUSTINBIEBER.”
Bieber, for his part, hasn’t mentioned the incident on Twitter, only saying that “Munich was a good time. And loud. The bus is headed to Vienna now. U coming?”

He later posted a photo of himself with the monkey to his Instagram account with the caption “Kickin it with og”.
