Wade Robson has been all over the news lately after he came out to say that Michael Jackson, whom he defended in a child molestation trial in 2005, actually molested Robson for seven years.
Only time will tell if Robson’s sexual molestation lawsuit against the Jackson estate has any teeth. In the meantime, here’s what you should know about Robson’s life, career, accomplishments, and the man behind the story — a talented choreographer and performer who has numerous claims to fame …
1. Wade Robson Was Part of a Kid-Rap Duo Called Quo in the ’90s
Wade Robson aka Kaos (at the time) and DeWayne Turrentine aka Syco Smoov made up the rap duo under Michael Jackson’s label MJJ Music.
For two years they performed various songs including Blowin’ Up and Quo Funk. Have a look at their song Huh What featuring Redman. Are you getting Kriss Kross flashbacks?
2. Wade Robson is Actually Joey Fatone
IMDb states that,
When Joey Fatone, a member of *NSYNC, hurt his leg in rehearsals for the music video for their single “POP.” Wade had to fill in and get Joe-ified for the video.
Keep your eyes peeled as all the close-up shots of him are Fatone, but the rest are Robson. Since Robson was the choreographer for N’Sync and co-wrote the song with Justin Timberlake, filling in only made sense.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look to see Robson’s Fatone transformation for yourself. Anyone remember MTV’s show “Making The Video”?
3. You May Remember The Wade Robson Project
The Wade Robson Project was a dance competition show that was pretty well-liked, but at the same time, it didn’t last very long. See JC Chasez pictured with him above on the show’s season finale.
Wade hosted of course and (on an interesting note) even threw in a little Michael tribute performance.
4. He Was on Star Search
Check out Wade performing a Michael Jackson routine at age 8 on the Aussie version of Star Search. Ironic, isn’t it?
5. Wade Directed Britney Spears’ Dream Within A Dream Tour.
After a few years a cheating scandal erupted, stirring up rumors that Britney Spears actually cheated on Justin Timberlake with Robson. Check out what The Daily Beast reported:
Of course, men aren’t the only ones who cheat beneath them. Just look at Britney Spears. In 2006, she reportedly two-timed her then-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, stepping out with none other than Wade Robson, the man who served as both their choreographers. Robson has denied the claims, but a slew of songs from Timberlake are all said to address the alleged pair. “You don’t have to say what you did / I already know, I found out from him / Now there’s just no chance, for you and me, there’ll never be / And don’t it make you sad about it.”
Have a look at the infamous Cry Me A River video that supposedly was about the scandal with a pretty spot-on Britney look-a-like.
Other artists Robson worked with included Mandy Moore and Sisqo.
6. He is a So You Think You Can Dance Alum
For three years, appeared on the show So You Think You Can Dance as a choreographer, performer, and judge. He even appeared on the Canadian version.
7. SNL Spoofed Him
With Jack Black as Sparkle, Seth Meyers as Wade Robson, Maya Rudolph as Amber Lynn, and Amy Poehler in this skit, the four comedians had a great time spoofing Robson’s show The Wade Robson Project back in 2003.
8. Dancing With The Stars Was Another Platform for Robson
Striking a pose at a DWTS results show in 2009.
Check out his performance.
9. Robson Hangs With the Weird
Well, Weird Al Yankovic anyway. Everyone loves Weird Al… Looks like Robson’s fond of the guy too.
10. Wade Robson is a Master
Masterclass is a series of instructional dance videos taught by “master choreographers” including Wade Robson.
