Apolo Ohno is a former professional American speed skater who achieved a winning streak of eight Olympic medals in just three games in the past. However, according to Yahoo! News, he hasn’t actually competed since 2010.

2. Apolo Will Be a Commentator During The Sochi Winter Olympics

Csmonitor reports, although Ohno might not be returning to the Olympics to perform himself — he is coming back to help host! Ohno will be on NBC-TV for coverage of the 2014 Sochi Olympics and says he may even help commentate on coverage of Alpine skiing and snowboarding. According to the source, he says:
Hopefully I can give people a good show.
3. Recently, He Became a Game Show Host

4. It Was Difficult For Apolo To Turn His Back On The Olympics
According to a report by News! Yahoo, these are Ohno’s latest thoughts on leaving the Olympics and returning to host:
I miss it every day. That was my most difficult moment because you feel like you can do it one more time. I’ve lived it. I’ve been there day in and day out. I can share that and gain that trust with other athletes.
Currently, according to Sports Illustrated the star is living full time in Los Angeles and trying to take advantage of all the entertainment opportunities he can since “breaking out as a star” at the 2002 Winter Olympics.
5. Apolo Has Reached a New, “Better” Chapter In His Life
On starting a new life for himself in the entertainment world, Ohno claims “this is the new me”:
Olympic athletes have to find a job right after they’re done competing. You’d like people to remember you for these great times on the ice. In reality, you want them to forget because you’re doing something new and better.
