“Ooh your slanted eyes” and “It’s the Year of the Dragon”… Those are just some of the lyrics from one of the worst songs in the history of music. The song belongs to band Day Above Ground, a southern California group that sounds like the Backstreet Boys meshed with that other horrendous ’90s band Crazy Town.
While the band claims that it’s not racist and claims it’s in no way intended to be racist or make fun of Asian stereotypes, the video has over 17,000 dislikes compared with 1,100 likes since its debut on YouTube yesterday. Of course, people on YouTube and Twitter don’t exactly see eye-to-eye with the band’s point of view either.
This Insanely Racist 'Asian Girlz' Video Has to be a Parody, Right? http://t.co/K7Q2V8hTzx
