Having a bachelor’s degree in Business, Isler applied her degree towards a job at Venevision TV Network, where she currently works as a “talent.” However, now that she has been crowned Miss Universe, she will be travelling around the world for the next year. Venevision will have to be put on hold for a while …

While Isler’s name is said to be Gabriela Isler, several sites are referring to the new Miss Universe as Maria Gabriela Isler. Perhaps she dropped the “Maria” to simplify things? Isler also is sometimes called “Molly.”
3. She’s a Professional Party Crasher
When Isler was 7-years-old, she often attended parties that she wasn’t actually invited to. Supposedly, she ended up always making friends with the birthday boy or girl and everything worked out fine. Let’s hope Isler grew out of that habit.

Apparently, Gabriela’s greatest role model is her mom. MissUniverse.com writes that Isler’s choice was her mother:
because despite the diversity she and her family faced growing up, her mother stayed strong and taught her that there was always a way to make ends meet.
5. She Can Wrap Your Holiday Gifts Perfectly
When Gabriela was younger, she had a job wrapping gifts. Supposedly, she liked her job because she enjoyed talking to each person she wrapped a gift for to hear the gift’s back-story. Isler loved hearing about who each present was intended for and used each story to decide how she would decorate it. She wrapped each package according to the customer’s story.
