Prince William, aka The Duke of Cambridge, was at the BAFTAs this year and lucky for him, he got a high-five from the opening performer Tinie Tempah. As Tempah made his way through the rows of stars, many of the celebrities lit up and smiled at him throughout his performance.

2. Tempah’s Real Name Is Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu
Like many stars, Tinie Tempah is simply a stage name. Tempah’s real name is Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu. Whatever his name is, he’s a popular English rapper who put out his first mixtape in 2005. Wikipedia states that Tempah was born to Nigerian parents in England and education was very important to him.
Okogwu lived on the Aylesbury Estate in Southeast London until he was 12 with his parents and three younger siblings: Kelly, Kelvin and Marian. The family later moved to Plumstead, Woolwich, with Patrick attending St. Paul’s Catholic School (now St. Paul’s Academy) in nearby Abbey Wood. After earning 10 GCSEs, he went on to study A Levels at St. Francis Xavier Sixth Form College, earning A-levels in media studies, psychology, and religious studies.
3. Playstation Gave Tempah His First Big Break Into The Music Industry
Sony launched its PlayStation Portable and used some of Tempah’s music, using a track featuring Yasmin and DJ Ironik, and “Atlantic/Warner” for the futuristic Wipeout Pure. After that, a big promotional tour ensued.
4. Tempah’s Had Some Big Name Collaborations
Tinie Tempah has collaborated with a lot of big names. He’s even performed with Snoop Dogg and his MTV bio states:
In 2011, he embarked on a U.K. arena tour, and later that year released two new singles “Like It or Love It” featuring Wretch32 & J. Cole, and “Lucky Cunt,” which featured Big Sean. He also collaborated with Calvin Harris on the smash hit single “Drinking from the Bottle” in 2013 and was included on Harris’ album 18 Months.

In an interview for ShortList.com, Tempah talked about one of his weirdest encounters with a fan.
Basically… this girl came to see a show with her mum. She was really nice. She and her mum hung around after the show, and the daughter was giving me ‘the look’. I thought, “You’re lovely, but your mum’s here.” We flirted and there was banter that hinted at it. And then the mum was like, “Oh I don’t mind, I’ll wait!” So her mum just waited outside the dressing room. That was f*cking weird.
