Prior to the BET Awards, celebrities and attendees celebrated over the weekend with some pre-parties and gatherings, but one went awry. Hollywood Take reports:

A man in his 20s was stabbed during a pre-BETs party Saturday night. The victim is in stable condition, and no arrests have been made. The Game was apparently present at the club where the stabbing occurred, but it appears he was not involved.

Funny man Chris Rock is dominating the BET Awards tonight as host. It sounds like no one is safe … This will be Rock’s first time hosting the awards show. Hollywood Take quotes Rock as saying:

The BET Awards is the hottest awards show on TV, by far. I’ve done ‘em all but none as hot as [the BET Awards].


4. Lionel Richie Is Receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award

Lionel Richie will be celebrated tonight with the Lifetime Achievement Award and will be giving a performance in tribute to his accomplishments in the industry. Not only is Richie an amazing music artist, he’s also a huge philanthropist. Viral Global News reports:

Richie, while an electric artist is also a breast cancer activist. He has helped to raise awareness and more than $3 million dollars to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
