‘The Bachelor’ 2015 Premiere Live Blog, Recap & Spoilers

Tonight is the 3-hour long premiere of The Bachelor, featuring the beautiful Chris Soules. The premiere features 30 contestants vying for the heart of Soules and the airing of the show has become a red carpet event. Dozens of past contestants and stars of the show have dropped in for a viewing of the first episode from season 19. The show opens up on the red carpet as we see stars from past seasons including Nikki Ferrell, who is the most recent winner of the show. Then, we head to Arlington, Iowa as we get to know Chris Soules’ family a bit, see his hometown which appears a bit desolate, and check him out as he works out with former contestant Cody Sattler. 8:10 p.m.

Host Chris Harrison interviews Sean Lowe and wife Catherine on the red carpet, bringing us up to speed on their life in Dallas together. 8:17 p.m.

Harrison then interviewed Lacy and Marcus, who fell in love while filming Bachelor In Paradise and they talked about how they’re currently planning their wedding. 8:24 p.m.

Finally, we meet some of the contestants. First, is Britt, who says that in her last long-term relationship, they didn’t have sex at all, though she’s a very “touchy” person. Then we meet Jillian who has biceps for days. Third is Amanda, who teaches ballet, but says she’s single because she’s crazy. She also says she lives at home because she doesn’t like to clean or pay bills on her own. Then comes Whitney the fertility nurse, who seems sweet and is a hopeless romantic. After Whitney, we meet the single mom of the season, followed by a flight attendant named Alissa. 8:28 p.m.

The show takes a serious turn when we meet Kelsey Poe, a widow, who lost her husband suddenly about a year ago. 8:30 p.m.

I’m going to spare you a good half hour where all we basically saw was interviews with past contestants, which was really dragging the premiere along. Then we move into watching Chris Soules do some adorable photo shoots for the show and we get to see him take his shirt off, so that’s always a plus. Then we get to see the mansion that Soules is staying at … right across from the mansion all the girls are staying in. 9:01 p.m.

And the first limo arrival is … Britt. She gives him an uncomfortably long hug and gushes over him. For a little spoiler info:

The limo arrivals continue and there aren’t a lot of crazy ones … yet. 9:10 p.m.

Reegan shows up with a cooler that has a fake, bloody heart in it for Chris since she’s a cadaver tissue salesperson. Yikes. Then, Tara Eddings shows up in cowboy boots, jean shorts and a plaid shirt to show Soules her country roots. Later on, things get a little crazy with Tara. Check out the below link to find out:

If that wasn’t interesting enough, Tara decided to change out of her country outfit and get into a black dress. Then she sneakily got back into a limo and made a second entrance. 9:14 p.m.

Next was a secret admirer note for Soules from contestant Amanda. 9:15 p.m.

We get to meet more women like Mackenzie the single mother, then a girl named Kaitlyn who tells Soules he can plow her fields any time. This ends the first round of girls. 9:23 p.m.

The first one-on-one time Soules had was with Britt and he said she was amazing and that she really spoke to his heart. Then, he met with widow Kelsey. 9:32 p.m.

Soon we get to meet more women and get to know them a little better. Two who stuck out were Whitney the fertility nurse and Amanda, the “big-eyed” ballerina who still lives at home. 9:42 p.m.

Then, the second round of girls showed up and the first round of contestants spied on them from inside the house, throwing tons of hate and bad comments. Some of the interesting first impressions were a girl wearing a pig nose, one showing up singing into a microphone box, and another girl riding up on a motorcycle. One girl even brought some whiskey and did a shot with Soules. 9:54 p.m.

One girl who was funny and goofy that Soules really liked was Kaitlyn. She put on some leggings under her dress and then taught Soules how to break dance. 10:05 p.m.

Things get a bit unfriendly when one girl steals Chris away, offering her “competitor” a yellow rose for her to go away. It was a truly awkward moment, especially when she decided to ramble on and on about the layers of an onion. 10:15 p.m.

Chris Soules gives Britt the First Impression rose and the two end up kissing. Soules tells the cameras that he hopes to end up with her. 10:19 p.m.

During the rose ceremony, Tara is visibly wasted and Soules leaves the room right in the middle of the ceremony. He’s upset because he had planned to give Tara a rose, but she was drunk. In the end, Soules decided to give Tara a rose, giving her another chance. 10:42 p.m.

Amanda was sent home crying and Kara was sent home with a weird eye tick. Others were sent home as well, but their exits did not stand out as much … except for Kimberly who cried and decided to go back into the house to talk to Chris … And you’ll find out what happens next week. 10:47 p.m.

As for the promo for the upcoming season, there were lots of hugs, kisses, bikinis, and a lot of drama. At one point, their is an overnight camping date and one girl sneaks into Soules’ tent. He ends up having sex with her and all the girls know about it. It creates serious problems for Soules and he feels incredibly guilty.
