Fans have been camped out in Central Park since Sunday, August 2, 2015, all awaiting performances from their favorite boy band, One Direction, on Good Morning America. Today, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Niall Horan take the stage to perform some of their best songs as well as new hit “Drag Me Down.” “Drag Me Down” is the first piece of new work they’ve released since beloved Zayn Malik left the group. Malik has recently signed on with Simon Cowell to create his own music.
Prior to the guys’ performances, the four boys sat down for an interview and talked about being a foursome. Liam said the album’s great and it’s about them “still going strong”. Harry said they released their single “Drag Me Down” in the middle of the night because it’d be a little more fun since they normally do a big release for their songs. Liam described the album as “eclectic” and Louis joked that he was using his big vocabulary words for that answer. When Michael Strahan congratulated Louis on becoming a father soon, Louis coyly smiled and thanked him during this exciting time. Harry then thanked the fans and viewers for showing up to see them this morning. In conclusion, Harry talked about “action 1D” and how they want to help poverty, global warming, and world hunger, explaining that their fandom is very powerful.
First on the list of performances this morning was fan-favorite “Steal My Girl” and next was “Story Of My Life”. Finally, the boys performed their latest song “Drag Me Down”. Check out “Drag Me Down” in the above video and the other two songs in the below clips.
