Famous Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was granted a 30-day release from prison in India for his daughter’s nose surgery. After the 30 days are up, he’ll be able to apply for 60 more days and possibly be out for 90 days today, The Times of India reported. People are taking to social media to express their outrage and accuse Indian officials of giving Sanjay Dutt VIP treatment that poorer people aren’t eligible for. This isn’t the first time Dutt has been given furlough. In December 2014, he was also given leave, NDTV reported. Between May 2013 and May 2014, he was out for 118 days. He was jailed in 2013 for getting illegal weapons from people involved in the 1993 Mumbai attacks. He was sentenced to six years in prison.
