It’s been a season of one-ups and fighting for control so far on Empire but in Wednesday night’s brand-new episode, titled “Poor Yorick,” the Lyons family will actually come together for a good cause – the music.
Jamal (Jussie Smollett) and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) will put aside their differences to shoot a music video for their duet off Hakeem’s leaked album. The big question though, can Hakeem use the video – and its potential success – as a way to get a bit of an edge on his father? After all, Lucious (Terrence Howard) did steal away one of Hakeem’s artists, Valentina (Becky G), last week.
After his Empire victory last week, Lucious is feeling more confident than ever, but that may take a downward swing sooner rather than later. As he searches for Vernon (Malik Yoba) to make sure he doesn’t rat him out, the Empire building will be searched by the FBI. Still, this is is Lucious we’re talking about and if the FBI is threatened by him and Empire, it must mean he’s doing something right.
That, of course, won’t stop prosecutor Roxanne Ford (Tyra Ferrell) who will also have the FBI search Lucious’ home.
This week will also be a particularly dramatic one for Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) She’s slated to meet a brand-new concert promoter who could also double as a possible love interest in guest star Adam Rodriguez. Oh, and for good measure, she’ll also have her own run with the FBI and the police.
Still looking for a little bit more drama? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Andre (Trai Byers) and Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) are totally going to dig up Vernon’s body. Because when you’re trying to get back into the Empire, you’ll dig up dead bodies.
The latest episode of Empire airs on FOX on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET.
