Get our 5 Fast Facts on the company and its episode below.
1. Masadeh Is Faced With a “Fiery” Manager
This episode isn’t all fun and games as Nader Masadeh is face with a feisty manager at one of his stores. While on the job, the manager tells Masadeh that he believes fear gets respect. He calls all of his employees dumb-asses because he says most of them are just high-school kids. He also says, “You can’t ask dumb people to do smart things.” This is very upsetting to Masadeh. Masadeh believes the manager Wes is nothing but a bully.
2. One of the Employees Compares the Company to Buffalo Wild Wings
Masadeh visits the Chicago area and goes to one of their top stores to work with a server named Amber. Masadeh is posing as “Pete” as he tries to find out the successes of this Chicago location. One thing that does upset Masadeh here is that Amber compares Buffalo Wings & Rings to Buffalo Wild Wings.
3. Nader Masadeh Started His Career Washing Dishes at Burger King
Before becoming the “Sauce King of Cincinnati, Masadeh washed dishes at Burger King before graduating to Taco Bell. He also worked alongside his father and all of his restaurant ventures. The franchise of Buffalo Wings & Rings came about in the 1980’s, but in 2004, Masadeh and his father bought into the franchise. Eventually, Masadeh bought both the franchise and the concept.
4. Masadeh Has To Dress Up as the Company’s Mascot
When Masadeh is in disguise he ends up coming face to face with the company’s mascot Chef Buffalo. Masadeh is very excited because he actually created the mascot and has been “itching” to try it out. At an American Cornhole competition, Masadeh shows up in costume and cheers people on. He also takes pictures and passes out coupons.
5. Buffalo Wings & Rings Is a Sports Restaurant Franchise
Buffalo Wings & Rings is a “club-level sports restaurant franchise with a chef-inspired family-friendly menu.” CEO Masadeh recently told Cincinnati.com that they are redesigning the stores for a brand new look, explaining that:
We want to create a new experience for consumers who want the sports experience, but don’t want it in a sports bar. It’s not the traditional sports bar – the dark, masculine, fried food kind of concept.
