Tonight, the top 6 contestants on American Idol 2016 faced elimination. Trent Harmon, Dalton Rappatoni, La’Porsha Renae and MacKenzie Bourg were put through to the top 5 after each of their first performances, leaving Sonika Vaid and Tristan McIntosh in the bottom two. Each contestant performed a song chosen by American for their first set. Vaid and McIntosh had to sing for the last “save” of the season from the judges, but one girl had to say goodbye … And the performer eliminated tonight was … Tristan McIntosh.
While McIntosh received mixed reviews from the judges, the judges just fell in love with Vaid’s performance. They felt she was making a real statement that she wasn’t ready to go home yet.
This was the second time the judges saved Sonika Vaid from elimination.
