The latest Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate that the soap are “writing off” four of its cast members, reported Daytime Confidential. Belle (Martha Madison), Shawn (Brandon Beemer), Summer (Marie Wilson) and Lani (Sal Stowers) are all being cut by Dena Higley and Ryan Quan, stated the site.

‘DOOL’s’ Creative Brass Evidently Aren’t Taking Any Chances When It Comes to Getting Renewed

While DOOL loyalists are aware of the ever-so-changing landscape of the soap world, many of them certainly didn’t anticipate a character alteration of this magnitude.
On February 11, NBC announced that the program was renewed for one season with an option for another; a tell-tale reason why the creative brass is trying to better its product.
The characters of Belle and Shawn were brought back into the mix amid DOOL’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2015; shown below.
Actor Jason Cook played Sean prior to Beemer embodying it. With Belle and Shawn’s marital issues a major part of the show, their potential exits could be of a deadly nature. Although diversity on DOOL has been an integral part of “primetime and film, daytime is completely regressing in this area” amid Stowers’s possible firing, reported the site.
Interesting enough, three of the actors on the chopping block were either casted or returned in 2015. News of Stowers’s arrival was reported in June 2015. Madison announced that she’d be reappearing on the show that same month. News of Beamer’s return was reported in November 2015. Wilson announced — shown below — that she’d be filling the role on October 22, 2014.

However, an August 2015 casting call for the Summer role was a clearcut sign that Wilson would likely not be around for much longer.
Note: Madison, Beemer, Wilson or Stowers have yet to address the recent rumors of their reported exits.
