Anne Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman are first-time parents.

Anne Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman welcomed their first child, a little baby boy, late last month. The couple kept their new addition secret for a couple weeks before E! News reported it on April 7.

Hathaway, 33, and Shulman, 35, are both new parents. Her pregnancy was confirmed by multiple sources in November 2015 and the actress showed off her baby bump on the beach in an Instagram pic in January.

Here’s what you need to know.

1. Hathaway Delivered Her Little Boy on March 24

Hathaway delivered a happy, healthy baby boy in March.

Hathaway and Shulman welcomed their son early on March 24, but his birth was not confirmed publicly until two weeks later. The new parents named their child Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman.

“The baby is extremely healthy and is surrounded by friends and family in L.A.,” a source told E! News. “Anne and Adam are ecstatic to be parents.”

Rumors of her pregnancy began last September when it appeared she had a baby bump at the London premiere of her film, The Intern, co-starring Robert De Niro. Multiple outlets confirmed Hathaway’s pregnancy in November when she sported a much larger baby bump while out in Beverly Hills with her producer husband.

The expectant parents cleared their schedule in the months leading up to their son’s birth to prepare for his arrival, another source previously told E! News. This is the first child for both Hathaway and Shulman.

Anne has more time now with her husband and preparing for her baby. Adam has been really helpful and is so excited on the baby. Adam and Anne are doing great as a couple and this whole baby process is a bonding experience for them both. ‘One baby at a time,’ she says but she would not mind one more after this.

3. Hathaway Has Wanted to Be a Mother for Years

The Oscar-winning actress has spoken often about wanting to become a mother. During an actress roundtable for The Hollywood Reporter, she said, “I’m the only one here who’s not a mother. I hope to join the ranks soon.”

She hopes to have more than one child and told The Telegraph in 2012 that she would like to have children naturally and possibly adopt. Hathaway also contemplated shifting her focus from career to motherhood.

“I’ve had one goal in mind for the past 12 years, which is: get a movie, get a movie, get a movie. Now I might have to say: get a baby, get a baby, get a baby,'” she told The Telegraph.

The Princess Diaries actress has waited years to meet her first newborn, but she knows the type of mother she’ll be will depend on her child, she explained to Vogue in 2013.

I want to be a mother, and I anticipate loving my children quite fiercely. I think about it all the time, though it’s a silly thing to think about because the kind of mother I’ll be depends on the kind of children I have. I can’t wait to meet them.

4. She Worried Early About Keeping Paparazzi Away From Her Children

As early as 2012, Hathaway was thinking about the ramifications her life as a celebrity would have on her unborn children. The intrusion of paparazzi was high on her mind.

“I’m thinking about [paparazzi] because I really want to have a baby, and my husband and I are like, ‘Where are we gonna live?'” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

While vacationing around New Year’s, Hathaway noticed paparazzi taking photos of her on the beach. She posted her own photo to Instagram in retaliation that showed off her baby bump in a red bikini.
