On tonight’s episode of Hotel Hell, Gordon Ramsay ventures out to the Lakeview Hotel to help out owners Brent and Afni MacDonald. Ramsay, of course, is met with nothing but drama. Get the rundown on the owners and episode below.
1. Owner Brent Says That His Behavior Was All an Act
In an interview with 2Paragraphs, owner Brent revealed that his behavior on the show was “all an act,” saying:
I threw my wife under the bus. I know I am going to be painted as a bad guy.
Wife Afni says that the show “owned” them.
2. They Lost Money By Being on the Show
Owner Brent told the Yakima Herald that he and his wife were paid to be on the show. On the other hand, he said no one was allowed to stay at the hotel or go into the restaurant without being approved because it was a closed set. He said the money they were paid didn’t make up for the business they lost during the days of filming.
3. Ramsay’s Ideas Apparently Didn’t Work for Them
According to the owners, Gordon Ramsay’s ideas for their hotel didn’t work out. Brent said:
Most of the ideas he came up with didn’t work. We did some of the things he said not to do, and they work great.
And, when they started putting out some of the menu items Ramsay had added, he said they hardly sold any of them, so they went back to what they were used to doing.
4. The Hotel Re-Branded the Restaurant Against Ramsay’s Wishes
Brent MacDonald told the Yakima Herald that they re-branded their restaurant The Cock n’ Bull at B.C. MacDonald’s and he said that it was something Ramsay was against. Their focus is on chicken and beef. Wife Afni stated:
Gordon doesn’t understand this area, but of course in the show, he is always right.
5. Owner Brent Says the Producers Planted Stains on Their Sheets
When Gordon Ramsay went over the hotel, he reportedly found stains on the sheets in rooms. Brent MacDonald says that the stains were planted their by the production crew. Brent stated:
You know what’s real about a reality show? Nothing.
