A brand new behind-the-scenes video for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been revealed.
The clip made its debut at Star Wars Celebration 2016 in London during an hour-long panel with Kathleen Kennedy, director Gareth Edwards, and the film’s cast. It shows a significant amount of new creatures from the film that fans will want to freeze frame and take a look at, as well as some of the action sequences taking place on the new beach planet.
Fans also get to take a look at the behind-the-scenes directing process of Gareth Edwards, who during the panel described his love of Star Wars growing up. He made it clear, though, that he hopes Rogue One will differentiate itself from A New Hope, not merely retreading what that film did. This was one of the primary criticisms of J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
In addition to this new behind-the-scenes reel, Disney also debuted a new poster for Rogue One, although a second trailer was not shown as many fans were hoping for.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story follows the group of rebels that stole the plans to the Death Star prior to the events of Episode IV: A New Hope. It is the first of several standalone films set in the Star Wars universe but that are not part of the main Skywalker storyline. It stars Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker and James Earl Jones.
