WATCH: Stephen Colbert Gets ‘Melania Trump’ Plagiarism Apology

At the start of Tuesday night’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Colbert revealed that he’s such good friends with Donald and Melania Trump that he secured an apology from Melania herself over the plagiarism scandal from the first night of the Republican National Convention.

In reality, it was actress Laura Benanti who delivered the apology, which was littered with movie and book lines. She also fell into her model habits of posing in front of the camera.

Tuesday’s episode also featured a check-in with an African-American delegate at the RNC, played by Keegan-Michael Key. Colbert pointed out that there was a NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll from last week that showed Trump had zero percent support from black voters in Ohio.

Colbert also spoofed Trump’s entrance at the start of his monologue.
