‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’: Meet the Cast of Renee Zellweger’s New Movie

Colin Firth

Colin Firth is also an Oscar winner, thanks to his work in the 2010 Best Picture winner The King's Speech. He's played Mark Darcy in all three Bridget Jones movies now. Although he's back, Hugh Grant, who played Daniel Cleaver, is nowhere to be found in Bridget Jones's Baby.

Collider's Brian Formo was surprised that the new film turned out so well and notes that the film updates the character. "By largely removing the quest for shacking up and making not a single chubby joke, Zellweger and the rest of the cast are allowed to engage in some delightfully charming old-fashioned screwball comedy set-ups: in the workplace, in the doctor’s office, on live television and in a hilariously long and struggling “race” to the hospital sequence," Formo wrote.
